Rigo Tovar is an all time great Mexican singer. His real name is Rigoberto Tovar Garcia but he is well known by the nick name “Rigo Tovar”. He was the first man in Mexico who introduced fusing electric guitars, rock melody and synthesizers with other traditional music instruments of Mexico and that’s why he is regarded as the pioneer in music world. His cumbia songs are also the cause of his popularity.
29th March, 1946 is the date of birth of Rigo Tovar. He was born at Tamaulip. He spent his childhood in severe poverty as his family was very poor. He spent his whole life in tragedies and controversies and there is no other happiness in his life except his success in the music world. His father always kept a difficult and tense relationship with Rigo.
Family quarrels were routine matter in his life and spent most of the time in these family disputes. Although he has many brothers but as he started his career, they left him alone. He has a very close relationship with his mother but he also lost his mother in start of his career. There were many women in Rigo’s life and he has 12 children.
He is also suffering from skin disorder disease called vitiligo and got diagnosed this disease very late in his life. He is also suffering from diabetics and retinitis pigmentosa in addition to the vitiligo. He spent the last years of his life in a great difficult because he had become very sick and blind at that time. He could not celebrate his 59th birthday and died just a few days before on 27 March, 2005.
