The changing of skin color in Vitiligo

The changing of skin’s color in VitiligoVitiligo happens to be the disease of skin. When it happens, it leaves the skin with white and pale patches on it. The changing of skin color in vitiligo, these spots then widen and even start spreading all over the body. Sometimes they are seen on and around the genitals.


Since the color of skin changes in this disease, the melanin emerges the cause behind this change of color of the skin. The melanin is what that helps determine the skin’s color and even hair and eyes. Melanin is made in cells called Melanocytes. It is the Melanocytes that makes the melanin and then transports this pigment into other major cells of the skin and these cells are called Keratinocytes.

In vitiligo cases, melanocytes get missed. Melanin is not made and when it happens the skin becomes completely dull or white.
